Malingering Masseuse Caught Hands On
In another success for Alias Confidential Investigations, ACI investigators caught an allegedly injured masseuse working at her trade. When ACI was called to the case, the subject claimed to be in extreme pain due to an injury and unable to work at her job. ACI investigators quickly discovered that the subject owned a facial and massage business, which she was present at five days a week. Posing as customers, ACI investigators entered the business and obtained hours of videotape evidence of the subject at work within her business. Without eliciting any signs of injury that she had claimed to her employer, the subject was documented working for hours giving facial treatments and massages. The accumulated evidence was delivered to the satisfied client without the subject ever having known.
ACI Evidence and Testimony Win Trial
In a victorious case for ACI and its clients, the evidence and testimony from ACI carried the day.
When the subject was initially offered over $60,000 on behalf of her Workers' Compensation claim, she rejected the offer and sought additional compensation. ACI was called onto the job. ACI investigators obtained ample videotape evidence of the subject's activities that were inconsistent with her claims.
Eventually the case was challenged by the subject and the evidence was taken to court. ACI appeared in court and laid the foundation of the evidence clearly and solidly. The judge found that the subject's claims were inconsistent and that she had not sustained an industrial injury. The judge ruled that the subject would receive no benefits.
An elated client responded, "This victory was due... to our friends at Alias Confidential."
Copious Evidence Contradicts Subjects Claims
In a long term Workers' Compensation investigation, ACI investigators proved to be an example for the industry. The subject of the investigation claimed to be injured to the extent that work was impossible. The subject gave testimony that she did not work at any other companies and had to wear her arm brace all day, every day. Over the course of several weeks, ACI investigators conducted a covert investigation that revealed the true extent of the subject's injuries. Hours of videotape evidence was obtained of the subject without her brace as she drove, shopped and exercised. The investigators discreetly followed and filmed the subject within stores, restaurants and even a gym. Compounding the subject's dishonesty, ACI investigators confirmed that the subject was working at another company and obtained video of the subject at work. In a final batch of contradictory behavior, on the day the subject gave her testimony that she didn't work and had to wear her brace all the time, ACI filmed the subject first visiting her work then putting on her brace before her appointment. A satisfied client commented, "This is the blueprint for how an investigation should be handled."
ACI Investigators Follow Case through Court
After an extensive Workers' Compensation investigation, where ACI investigators gathered substantial evidence of the subject acting beyond her alleged capabilities, the subject decided to take the case to court. The subject had stated that she could not lift her arms or bend over, but when faced with videotape evidence obtained by ACI, she recanted the facts. She testified in court that her previous testimony was incorrect and that she could lift her arms and bend over, but that it caused pain. Later, the ACI investigator handling the case presented her testimony with "clarity and authority," demonstrating that the video also depicts that the subject was not in pain. Afterwards, a satisfied client remarked to ACI that "based upon the results of yesterday's trial alone... we are in a very favorable position."
Alleged Disabled Subject Goes Camping
As a result of a year old Workers Compensation injury, the subject claimed that he was still unable to lift or carry any significant weight and needed to be restricted from work. ACI was put on the case. As the subject remained at his residence but frequently moved his vehicle, ACI investigators remained patient. The subject finally exited his residence and was documented as he worked on his vehicle for several hours and then loaded the truck with camping gear. Over two hours of videotape evidence was obtained. Afterwards, the subject was discreetly followed as he drove far from his residence to a private campground. ACI investigators determined that cost of membership at the camp and ascertained how frequently the subject must visit. The ample evidence, including video of the subject lifting far more than he claimed possible, enabled our client to easily determine the nature of the subject's Workers Compensation claim.
Security Guard Convicted with ACI Evidence
A school security guard, who had allegedly been hit in a parking lot by a vehicle, was receiving ample monetary compensation for his alleged disability. As the guard was suspected of malingering, ACI was put on the case to discover the extent of his abilities. In due course, ACI investigators obtained copious amounts of evidence of the guard with no disability whatsoever. In addition to having his claim cancelled, the guard was eventually prosecuted. Based on the evidence provided by ACI, the guard was convicted of felony fraud.
A Long Day's Work
During a recent follow-up investigation of a Workers Compensation claim, the investigator verified and obtained copious evidence of the claimant's daily working schedule. The claimant, who had previously alleged that his back injury made him unable to work at all, was documented as he drove to a business district and worked from morning to night delivering goods, a shift of over 12 hours. The investigator diligently maintained surveillance throughout the entire day, obtaining videotape evidence of the claimant at half a dozen locations and routinely lifting heavy boxes, regardless of his alleged injury.
Thinking Outside the Box
While investigating a Worker's Compensation case, the investigator observed that the claimant appeared healthy yet showed little activity outside of the residence. Noting that an open house was underway next to the claimant's residence, the investigator seized the initiative and joined the tour. While at the open house, the investigator met the claimant and obtained statements that the claimant was actively searching for a job and had recently attended an interview at a large company. The claimant's employer had been previously told by the claimant that further work or other employment was impossible due to the alleged injury. The statements obtained by the investigator directly contradicted those made earlier by claimant. The statements and other evidence were promptly relied to the client for review.
Evidence Obtained of Subject's Duplicity
In a recent Worker's Compensation investigation, ACI investigators obtained videotape evidence of the subject carrying a large box to her vehicle and walking in a quick, normal manner, despite alleging that she could not maintain a sedentary job nor walk without support. The very next day, investigators obtained evidence of the claimant walking in a slow, feebled manner, utilizing a cane for support. The evidence of the subject's drastically differing behaviors was delivered to an escatic client.
Allegedly Disabled Subject Caught Shopping All Day
During a recent East coast Worker's Compensaition investigation, the subject alleged that a bilateral elbow injury prevented the subject from working. Despite this, the subject was observed departing in the early morning and was followed through the late afternoon as the subject visited many garage sales, yard sales and discount stores, to return home with the purchases. Utilizing the latest technology, ACI investigators followed and documented the subject for the entire day without detection. The satisfied client, a large U.S. based insurance company, responded with "I love it - you are good" and "I will be showing you off around here."
Courtesy Surveillance Proves Successful
Unsatisfied with the limited results of a recent Workers Compensation investigation and suspicious that the subject was malingering, ACI investigators elected to perform additional surveillance as a courtesy to the client. Even though previous surveillance had witnessed the subject walking slowly and grimacing, the additional surveillance proved successful. The subject was observed climbing stairs and carrying a large backpack with ease, inconsistent with his previous behavior. The satisfied client responded to the evidence with, "You are my hero once again!!"
ACI Falsifies Subject's Tear-Filled Claims
During a tear-filled deposition, the subject claimed to have constant and severe pain and claimed to be unable to do anything at all due to an injury. The deposition was cut short to alleviate the subject's physical pain and emotional condition. Immediately afterwards, ACI investiagtors obtained videotape evidence of the subject visiting a shopping mall and shopping for hours before returing home. The subject was observed lifting various merchandise, meeting friends, laughing and hugging. The case is currently being considered for criminal prosecution.
ACI Catches Subject Double-Dipping
After the subject alleged that he suffered from severe back pain and was restricted from working, ACI investigators obtained evidence of the subject's active weekend. Evidence was obtained of the subject preparing for a Labor Day party, lifting a washing machine from a pickup bed and going to work at another employer. Videotape evidence was obtained throughout the day of the subject working for the other employer. The case is currently being considered for criminal prosecuation.
Successful Investigation Benefits Local Law Enforcement
During a recent Worker's Compensation investigation, ACI investigators obtained over one and one half hours of videotape evidence of the claimant involved in activities indicative of the possession and sale of controlled substances. Although the claimant alleged he could not maintain a sedentary desk job due to pain, he was observed active for several hours and engaged in suspicious activities. In addition to obtaining evidence contradicting the claimant's allegations, the evidence of criminal activity was turned over to local law enforcement agencies. ACI is currently working with local and federal law enforcement to conclude the criminal aspect of the investigation.

ACI Discovers Shocking Footage
ACI, working undercover, watched a claimant get out of the vehicle that was driven by his wife. When he exited the vehicle, on the way to his medical appointment, the claimant utilized a walker while under the assistance of his children. His actions demonstrated a very "over-dramatic" disabled state. ACI pursued the claimant after his return from the appointment, where his wife drove five blocks and exited the vehicle. From here, the claimant proceeded to drive at a high-rate of speed until he returned home. ACI conducted a stakeout and followed him the next day, discovering shocking footage of the claimant jogging into a local library. Currently the case is being reviewed by attorneys of the world's largest insurance company and fraud charges are being filed in Phoenix Arizona Superior Court.
Undercover Operative Assists LAPD with Fraud Case
After a claimant provided sworn testimony of his inability to drive, literally crying that he "couldn't even drive anymore" ACI followed the suspect out of the court house. The claimant walked over seven block through the streets of Los Angelesuntil he entered a brand new Nissan, parked discretely, and drove home. Based on the footage provided by ACI the L.A. District Attorney filed charges of fraud and perjury against the claimant and a bench warrant was instantly issued.
ACI received word: "Hey, in case you hadn't heard yet, LAPD picked up (the subject) on 4/23...he was arraigned the next day...great job!!"
17 Year Old Girl Found Missing in Puerto Rico
Alias Confidential recently succeeded in locating and returning a 17-year old girl who had abandoned her home in Puerto Rico. The father of the 17-year old girl hired Alias Confidential to aid in locating and retrieving his missing daughter. Alias discovered that the daughter was befriended via the internet by a couple in Sacramento and was later convinced to live with them. This couple flew to Puerto Rico, picked up the girl, purchased a ticket for her travel and transported her to their home in Sacramento, CA.
Investigation revealed the couple refused contact between the girl and her parents, and local police and state agencies denied the ability to assist in the situation. Alias Confidential received an urgent e-mail asking for help, and after a quick telephone interview obtained the necessary information to begin the investigation. In less than 24 hours Alias Confidential was able to successfully locate and make contact with the daughter. Investigators informed her that her parents were extremely worried about her situation. At first she was hesitant to talk, but through careful negotiation she felt comforted by the investigative team and agreed to return home, despite her fear.
Her father was immediately contacted and flown to Sacramento where he waited in the car for investigators to make contact with his daughter. She was not informed her father was in Sacramento, and she was persuaded to exit the household to speak to investigators outside. At this point her father exited the vehicle and quickly retrieved his daughter.
Needless to say, the family was extremely grateful for ACI's ability to quickly locate and coordinate the recovery of his daughter. Alias is proud of the commitment and dedication to all investigations, whether on the local or global level.
